Sensex down 84 points; RIL, TCS, Infy in focus

Indian benchmark equity indices are opened with slight gains but soon slipped in red on Friday, amid mixed global cues and the persistent threat of escalation between India and Pakistan.

At 9:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 79716.85 down by -84.58 points or by -0.11 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24319.35 up by 72.65 points or by 0.3 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 80130.66 and intraday low of 79708.29 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24365.45 and intraday low of 24264.8

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 3449.30,+1.41%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1487.70,+1.11%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1310.50,+0.68%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1596.55,+0.61%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2332.80,+0.32%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1161.25,-3.81%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1212.05,-2.00%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 9149.20,-1.60%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 2082.30,-1.10%), Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 2408.25,-1.09%), among others.
