Demonetisation hits Hero MotoCorp November sales

Country's largest two-wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp Ltd on Friday reported a fall of 12.9 per cent in its sales at 4,79,856 units in November this year.

It has sold 5,50,731 units in the same month last year, the company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange on December 02, 2016.

The company said in a statement that, it saw a drop in retail sales after the demonetisation initiative when the entire industry also witnessed decline in sales.

“With the slew of measures being implemented by the government, and several initiatives immediately undertaken by Hero MotoCorp to support its dealers and consumers, the company expects the situation to steadily improve,” it added.

Meanwhile, shares of the company were trading at Rs 3,183.50 apiece, up 0.16 per cent, from previous close on BSE at 14:31 hours.
