SAP Labs launches Bengaluru Innovation Park; Inks MoU with Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya

In a major boost to India’s digital and technological advancement, SAP Labs India has inaugurated its state-of-the-art Innovation Park in Devanahalli, Bengaluru, Karnataka. The new campus aligns with the Government of India’s key initiatives such as Digital India, Skill India, and the push for sustainable infrastructure development in the tech sector.

Spanning 41.07 acres near Kempegowda International Airport, the facility is set to become SAP’s most advanced and sustainable campus globally. Once fully operational, it will house 15,000 professionals and serve as a central hub for innovation and R&D across India and the Asia-Pacific region. The campus will anchor global AI roles in product engineering and customer services, drive the development of Joule’s agentic AI capabilities, and feature AI labs, hybrid collaboration zones, startup incubation hubs, and hackathon spaces.

Speaking at the inauguration, Union Minister for Electronics & Information Technology, Railways, and Information & Broadcasting, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, lauded the investment as a reflection of global confidence in India's talent and innovation ecosystem. He called it a strategic step aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of "Viksit Bharat @2047", highlighting India’s technological transformation and rapid economic growth.

“From being the 11th largest economy 11 years ago, India is now on the cusp of becoming the third largest. Electronics exports have increased eightfold. Soon, India will begin production of its first indigenous semiconductor chip,” he said, while also underlining advancements in rail technology and India’s public-private model for democratizing access to computing resources.

As part of the inauguration event, SAP signed a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV), setting the stage for a robust industry-academia partnership aimed at digitally skilling professionals in India’s logistics and transport sectors.

This MoU focuses on three pillars:

Employment enablement for GSV-trained graduates and postgraduates through industry-relevant digital skills.

Curriculum enhancement and capacity building for students and government officials to align education with real-world industry needs.

Industry linkages for research, development, and employment, strengthening India’s logistics infrastructure.

By embedding SAP’s digital logistics tools and solutions into GSV’s academic framework, the partnership aims to build a future-ready workforce capable of meeting the evolving demands of the logistics and transport ecosystem.

The Innovation Park and the MoU with GSV exemplify SAP’s continued commitment to India’s digital transformation and workforce development. This initiative is not only a leap forward for India’s technological capabilities but also a significant step in empowering youth, strengthening industry-academia collaboration, and driving national development.

The inauguration event saw the presence of several key dignitaries, including Karnataka Chief Minister Shri Siddaramaiah, Karnataka IT Minister Shri Priyank Kharge, German Ambassador to India Dr. Philipp Ackermann, and SAP Labs Network Head Clas Neumann.
