The Finance Ministry on Thursday urged central government employees to switch to the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) ahead of the September 30 deadline to ensure smooth processing of their applications.

Introduced on April 1, 2025, UPS is available as an option under the National Pension System (NPS) for central government employees, offering assured payouts.

The ministry stated that September 30, 2025, is the final date for eligible employees and retirees under NPS to exercise their option for UPS.
