Copper prices climbed over 1 percent in futures trade on Monday, tracking strong global trends amid persistent supply concerns.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), copper futures for January delivery rose Rs 19.35, or 1.5 percent, to Rs 1,306.45 per kg, with a business turnover of 13,926 lots.
Similarly, the February contract for the red metal gained Rs 20.90, or 1.6 percent, to Rs 1,324.60 per kg, with 4,771 lots traded.
