Aluminium Futures Edge Lower on Weak Demand

Aluminium prices slipped on Thursday, with futures declining Rs 1.85 to Rs 316.25 per kg, as traders reduced positions amid a weak trend in the spot market.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), aluminium contracts for February delivery fell by Rs 1.85, or 0.58 per cent, to Rs 316.25 per kg, with a trading volume of 3,530 lots.

Analysts said the fall in aluminium prices was mainly due to position trimming by market participants, driven by easing demand from consuming industries.
