India’s Services sector growth eases in February amid slower demand, rising inflation

India’s services sector growth moderated slightly in February as new order growth slowed to a 13-month low, reflecting a softer improvement in demand and a pick-up in inflation, according to a monthly survey released on Wednesday.

The seasonally adjusted HSBC India Services PMI Business Activity Index eased to 58.1 in February from 58.5 in January.

In Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) terms, a reading above 50 indicates expansion in business activity, while a figure below 50 signals contraction.
