INS Trikand, a stealth frigate of the Indian Navy, arrived at Port Louis, Mauritius on March 10, 2026, as part of its ongoing operational deployment in the South West Indian Ocean Region.
During its port call, the ship will participate in the Mauritius National Day celebrations on March 12, 2026. The participation will include a marching contingent, a naval band, and an integral helicopter performing a fly-past during the National Day Parade at Champ de Mars Racecourse in Port Louis.
The ship’s Commanding Officer, Sachin Kulkarni, is also scheduled to meet senior officials from the Mauritian government and representatives of the Mauritius Coast Guard during the visit.
The port call will also feature a series of engagement activities including cross-training visits, friendly sports matches, cultural exchanges, and community outreach initiatives between the personnel of both countries.
The visit aims to strengthen maritime cooperation, enhance operational interoperability, and deepen the bilateral relationship between India and Mauritius.
