The Farmers Registry under the AgriStack digital public infrastructure has crossed 9.2 crore Farmer IDs across India as of March 19, 2026, providing a unified digital identity to landholding farmers, including women, tenants, and sharecroppers.

The initiative enables seamless access to government schemes such as PM-Kisan, crop insurance (PMFBY), MSP procurement, credit facilities, input distribution, and disaster relief through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

States like Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh have effectively leveraged the platform for faster scheme delivery, AI-based advisory, and improved transparency. Maharashtra, for instance, disbursed over Rs 14,000 crore to farmers for Kharif 2025 losses within five days using the system.

To ensure inclusivity, farmers without mobile access can register through support channels such as Common Service Centres (CSCs), Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs), and Krishi Sakhis.

The initiative continues to strengthen digital governance in agriculture while improving efficiency, transparency, and timely delivery of benefits to farmers.
