Gold futures rose over 1% on Monday, with prices climbing to around Rs 1.51 lakh per 10 grams amid escalating geopolitical tensions in West Asia.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange of India, June delivery contracts gained Rs 1,621, or 1.08%, to Rs 1,51,301 per 10 grams, compared to the previous close of Rs 1,49,680.
Commodity markets remained closed on Friday on account of Good Friday.
