India’s exports rise 13.78% to USD 43.56 billion in April

India’s exports rose by 13.78 percent year-on-year to USD 43.56 billion in April despite ongoing global economic challenges, Commerce Secretary Rajesh Agrawal said on Friday.

Imports during the month increased 10 percent to USD 71.94 billion, while the country’s trade deficit stood at USD 28.38 billion.

Agrawal also noted that India’s exports to West Asia declined sharply by 28 percent to USD 4.16 billion in April, compared to USD 5.78 billion in the same month last year.
