Govt to conduct underwriting auction for Rs 32,000 crore G-Secs today

The Government of India will conduct an underwriting auction for the sale (re-issue) of Government Securities worth Rs 32,000 crore on Friday, May 22, 2026.

The auction includes re-issuance of three securities — 6.03% GS 2029 worth Rs 11,000 crore, 6.68% GS 2033 worth Rs 11,000 crore, and 7.24% GS 2055 worth Rs 10,000 crore.

Under the existing underwriting commitment framework, Primary Dealers (PDs) will participate in the Additional Competitive Underwriting (ACU) auction through the RBI’s e-Kuber platform between 9:00 AM and 9:30 AM.

The underwriting auction will follow a multiple price-based method, while the underwriting commission will be credited to the current accounts of the respective PDs with the Reserve Bank of India on the date of issuance of the securities.
