Copper futures decline on weak domestic demand

Copper prices traded lower on Friday as subdued demand from consuming industries weighed on market sentiment.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper contracts for June delivery fell by Rs 17.60, or 1.26%, to Rs 1,375.35 per kg, with a business turnover of 770 lots.

Market participants attributed the decline to muted demand in the domestic spot market, which prompted traders to reduce their positions in copper futures.
