Net direct tax collection rises 16.4% to Rs 6.51 lakh crore in FY27

India's net direct tax collection rose 16.4% year-on-year to over Rs 6.51 lakh crore as of July 13, FY27, driven by robust growth in corporate tax collections, according to government data.

Net corporate tax collections increased 22% to Rs 2.40 lakh crore, while net non-corporate tax collections, which include taxes paid by individuals, HUFs and firms, grew nearly 12% to over Rs 3.84 lakh crore during the period.

Meanwhile, the government issued tax refunds worth Rs 1.22 lakh crore, marking a 14.57% increase compared with the corresponding period last year.
