The Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), NITI Aayog hosted the Regional AIM SUMVAAD–North East Chapter 2026 in Guwahati, bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, incubators, startups, academia, and state governments to strengthen the innovation ecosystem across the eight Northeastern states.

The conclave focused on promoting innovation-led growth by leveraging the region's strengths in sectors such as bamboo and bio-resources, sustainable tourism, handloom, handicrafts, and entrepreneurship. Discussions also emphasized strengthening incubation networks, improving startup access to funding, and fostering collaboration between government, industry, and academia.

The event reaffirmed AIM's commitment to building an inclusive innovation ecosystem and positioning the Northeast as a key contributor to India's Viksit Bharat @2047 vision through technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
