RBI imposes Rs. 3.10 lakh penalty on PAN Emami Cosmed

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has imposed a monetary penalty of Rs. 3.10 lakh on PAN Emami Cosmed Limited (formerly Midkot Investments Private Limited) for violating RBI's credit and investment concentration norms.

The penalty was imposed following a statutory inspection based on the company's financial position as of March 31, 2025. After reviewing the inspection findings, the company's reply, and oral submissions, the RBI concluded that the company had breached regulatory requirements.

According to the central bank, the company exceeded the prescribed regulatory limit for credit exposure to a single group of parties, resulting in non-compliance with RBI norms.

RBI clarified that the penalty is based solely on regulatory compliance deficiencies and does not affect the validity of any customer transactions or agreements. The central bank also stated that the action is without prejudice to any further regulatory action that may be initiated against the company.
