Zinc futures edged higher on Wednesday, gaining 0.4% to Rs 389 per kg on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), supported by increased buying amid firm spot demand.
The August delivery contract rose Rs 1.55 to Rs 389 per kg, with a business turnover of 564 lots.
Market participants attributed the rise in zinc prices to stronger demand in the spot market, which encouraged traders to build fresh positions in the futures segment.
