The Indian rupee ended on a flat note on Friday, settling 2 paise higher at 95.20 against the US dollar, amid heightened global risk aversion linked to uncertainty surrounding negotiations involving the Strait of Hormuz and elevated crude oil prices.
The domestic currency opened at 95.27 and traded in the 95.19–95.28 range during the session before closing at 95.20, up 2 paise from the previous close. Forex traders said cautious investor sentiment, driven by geopolitical uncertainty and the overnight rise in crude oil prices, limited gains in the rupee.
