Domestic silver futures rise to Rs 2.46 lakh per kg

Silver prices edged up Rs 222, or 0.09%, to Rs 2,46,819 per kg in futures trading on Monday, supported by fresh position-building by market participants.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), silver contracts for September delivery traded higher at Rs 2,46,819 per kg, with a business turnover of 3,748 lots.

Analysts attributed the uptick in silver prices to the creation of fresh positions by traders in the futures market.
