L&T secures Ultra-Mega Gas Compression Project in Middle East

L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Onshore (LTEH Onshore) has secured a contract to execute a major gas compression facilities project for a leading client in the Middle East, following a Letter of Award issued in FY26.

Under the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract, L&T will develop gas compression plants featuring gas inlet facilities, compression systems, condensate and produced water handling units, propane refrigeration systems and associated utilities.

The facilities will be established as new onshore installations designed to process sour gas in line with the client’s standards, applicable codes and project requirements.

To support the power needs of the gas compression plants, L&T’s Power Transmission & Distribution business will construct two 230 kV extra-high-voltage substations.

E S Sathyanarayanan, Senior Vice President and Head of L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Onshore, said the project marks the beginning of a strategically significant assignment that will add substantial gas compression capacity and utility infrastructure. He added that the project leverages L&T’s experience in executing complex hydrocarbon facilities and strengthens its capabilities in handling challenging sour gas applications.

LTEH Onshore is among India’s largest EPC businesses, providing Lump Sum Turnkey solutions across the upstream, midstream and downstream hydrocarbon segments. Its project portfolio includes refinery expansions, petrochemical complexes, gas processing plants, fertiliser facilities, LNG terminals and cross-country pipelines across multiple geographies.
