The CSIR-National Institute of Science Communication and Policy Research (CSIR-NIScPR) is leveraging SARAL AI, an initiative of the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), to convert research published in its journals into engaging and accessible videos.
The initiative aligns with the government’s focus on using emerging technologies to strengthen science communication and expand the reach of research. CSIR-NIScPR has emerged as an early adopter of SARAL AI following encouragement from the Ministry of Science & Technology.
As part of the initiative, CSIR-NIScPR recently organised a hands-on workshop on SARAL AI, attended by more than 90 participants, including journal editors and researchers. The programme aims to help researchers simplify complex scientific findings and communicate them effectively to wider audiences.
The initiative is expected to make Indian scientific research easier to discover, understand and share, particularly among students and the general public. The AI-generated research videos will provide an additional digital medium for disseminating scientific knowledge beyond traditional research publications.
The videos are being made available through a dedicated YouTube playlist, enabling wider public access to research published by CSIR-NIScPR journals.
