Equity benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty fell sharply by nearly 1% on Tuesday, dragged down by broad-based selling pressure amid renewed foreign fund outflows and escalating geopolitical uncertainties.

The 30-share benchmark index ended at 80737.51 down by -636.24 points or by -0.78 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24542.5 down by -174.1 points or by -0.7 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 81774.23 and intraday low of 80575.09 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24845.1 and intraday low of 24502.15

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3046.45,+0.69%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1432.75,-2.42%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 1993.90,-1.74%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 8977.25,-1.69%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 288.25,-1.62%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 237.60,-1.53%), among others.
