Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty were trading in the positive territory on Wednesday, after eight days of decline, on value-buying at lower levels after Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Wednesday kept its policy interest rate unchanged at 5.5 per cent for the second consecutive time, citing concerns over tariff uncertainties.

At 10:45 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 80512.82 up by 245.2 points or by 0.31 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24670.4 up by 59.3 points or by 0.24 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 80574.29 and intraday low of 80159.9 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24695.4 and intraday low of 24605.95

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 701.70,+3.12%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3494.35,+1.98%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1626.30,+1.97%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 2030.60,+1.83%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1370.10,+1.64%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 983.60,-1.50%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 12069.25,-1.27%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 727.50,-1.09%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1858.15,-1.06%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 167.05,-0.98%), among others.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 3950 , shares advanced were 2277 while 1488 shares declined and 185 were unchanged.
