Indian benchmark indices, the BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty, pared gains and slipped in red as investors remained cautious, closely tracking developments around the ongoing US–India trade talks.

At 9:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 83818.36 down by -59.81 points or by -0.07 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25762.85 down by -27.4 points or by -0.11 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 84258.03 and intraday low of 83616.14 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25899.8 and intraday low of 25760.05

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 292.80,+2.65%), State Bank of India (Rs. 1025.80,+1.06%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 943.55,+0.74%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1596.85,+0.72%), Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 1317.30,+0.52%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 3938.60,-1.99%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1643.60,-1.47%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1467.70,-1.05%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 2026.50,-0.84%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3650.75,-0.83%), among others.
