Mid-Session: Sensex down 452 pts, Nifty below 25,700

Indian benchmark indices BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty extended losses as investors have their eyes peeled for the US-India trade talks.

At 12:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 83425.47 down by -452.7 points or by -0.54 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25711.25 down by -79 points or by -0.31 %.

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 290.75,+1.93%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1435.50,+1.58%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1601.00,+0.98%), State Bank of India (Rs. 1022.00,+0.68%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 3250.20,+0.45%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 3891.80,-3.15%), InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. (Rs. 4744.00,-2.26%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1457.10,-1.77%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2371.25,-1.45%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1715.40,-1.23%), among others.

Metal index was at 37327.62 up by 14.93 points or by 0.04%. Jindal Stainless Ltd. (Rs. 789.05,+2.35%), National Aluminium Company Ltd. (Rs. 354.10,+1.19%), Hindalco Industries Ltd. (Rs. 929.05,+0.99%), Vedanta Ltd. (Rs. 633.45,+0.96%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4273 , shares advanced were 1975 while 2082 shares declined and 216 were unchanged.
