Nifty, Sensex trade lower amid volatility

Indian benchmark indices continued to trade lower during the noon trading session weighed down by selling in index heavyweights.

At 14:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 83505.56 down by -122.13 points or by -0.15 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25636.4 down by -95.9 points or by -0.37 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 83809.98 and intraday low of 83185.2 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25791.75 and intraday low of 25603.95

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 189.45,+3.81%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 944.80,+3.79%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 350.00,+3.60%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1298.35,+2.89%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 12293.00,+2.13%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 3191.75,-2.32%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2823.00,-2.13%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1699.00,-1.78%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 16164.45,-1.59%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2352.65,-1.56%), among others.

Metal index was at 38460.34 up by 1002.18 points or by 2.68%. Vedanta Ltd. (Rs. 674.40,+5.85%), National Aluminium Company Ltd. (Rs. 372.75,+4.32%), Hindustan Zinc Ltd. (Rs. 655.00,+3.99%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 189.45,+3.81%), Jindal Steel Ltd. (Rs. 1044.00,+3.23%),.

IT index was at 36491.12 down by -397.58 points or by -1.08%. Genesys International Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 358.30,-5.60%), Tata Elxsi Ltd. (Rs. 5535.00,-4.51%), InfoBeans Technologies Ltd. The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4417 , shares advanced were 2104 while 2110 shares declined and 203 were unchanged.
