Sensex, Nifty surge; Adani Ports up 9% on Q3

Domestic bourses continued to trade higher during the noon trading session supported by buying in index heavyweights including Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd, Bajaj Finance Ltd, InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. Bajaj Finserv Ltd. among others.

At 14:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 83824.44 up by 2157.98 points or by 2.64 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25768.9 up by 680.5 points or by 2.71 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 85871.73 and intraday low of 83501.22 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 26341.2 and intraday low of 25641.3

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1528.90,+8.98%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 964.15,+6.61%), InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. (Rs. 4930.35,+5.18%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 282.70,+4.65%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 2017.45,+4.52%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1721.45,-0.14%), among others.

Realty index was at 6366.42 up by 302.49 points or by 4.99%. Godrej Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1709.30,+9.54%), Lodha Developers Ltd. (Rs. 1028.90,+7.01%), Brigade Enterprises Ltd. (Rs. 783.25,+5.77%), Sobha Ltd. (Rs. 1491.25,+4.84%), Prestige Estates Projects Ltd. (Rs. 1552.60,+4.66%),.

FMCG index was at 18659.67 down by 148 points or by 0.8%. Zydus Wellness Ltd. (Rs. 421.05,-3.21%), Varun Beverages Ltd. (Rs. 452.80,-2.94%), Godrej Consumer Products Ltd. (Rs. 1145.75,-2.09%), Godrej Industries Ltd. (Rs. 550.00,-0.70%), Britannia Industries Ltd. (Rs. 5872.05,-0.22%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4571 , shares advanced were 3456 while 962 shares declined and 153 were unchanged.
