Indian benchmarks continued to trade in positive terrain during the noon trading session on Monday. In the broader market, the NSE MidCap 100 index fell 0.6 per cent, while the SmallCap was up 0.16 per cent.
Overseas, The Australian stock market is slipping to modest losses in mid-market trading on Monday after opening in the green, extending the slight losses in the previous session. Wall Street had closed on a positive note on Friday amidst the U.S. Supreme Court ruling that struck down a large portion of President Trump's global tariffs.
On the corporate front, shares of Sterlite Technologies (STL) hit a multi-year high of ₹170.15, as they rallied nearly 7 per cent on the BSE in Monday’s intra-day trade. ITC Hotels shares today jumped 5 per cent in trade, snapping the three-day losing streak on the back of heavy volumes.
Meanwhile, shares of Pine Labs Ltd. rose over 4 per cent on Monday after the company landed multi-year contracts from three domestic Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) for digital payments infrastructure.
At 14:19 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 83074.67 up by 259.96 points or by 0.31 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25627.25 up by 56 points or by 0.22 %.
