Indian benchmarks continued to trade in negative terrain lower by 700 points during the late morning deals. Indian shares were sharply lower on Tuesday as investors assessed U.S. trade uncertainty and monitored Middle East developments.
On the corporate front, share price of Bharti Airtel dipped 4 per cent to ₹1,921.65, its sharpest intra-day decline in the past three months. Shares of Pace Digitek Ltd. rose over 4 per cent on Tuesday after its subsidiary won a ₹159 crore purchase order from Reliance Industries for the supply of Li-ion battery packs.
At 11:27 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 82577.02 down by -717.64 points or by -0.86 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25505.85 down by -207.15 points or by -0.81 %.
In the volatile trade so-far, Sensex touched intraday high of 83079.51 and intraday low of 82410.99 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25641.8 and intraday low of 25460.70.
NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 379.35,+1.04%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 305.80,+0.81%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1393.70,+0.52%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2354.00,+0.39%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 12993.90,+0.15%), were among the gainers.
Whereas, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1369.00,-5.05%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1355.40,-4.97%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 255.90,-4.55%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1280.20,-3.63%), Kwality Wall's (India) Ltd. (Rs. 26.14,-3.44%), were among the losers on the BSE.
