Sensex, Nifty under pressure as Trump signals more aggression

Indian benchmark indices witnessed a sharp decline at the opening bell, as investor sentiment turned cautious following remarks by Donald Trump.

Heightened uncertainty after his address led traders to adopt a risk-off approach, resulting in broad-based selling across the indices.

At 9:45 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 72262.7 down by -871.62 points or by -1.19 % and then NSE Nifty was at 22251.45 down by -427.95 points or by -1.89 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 72262.7 and intraday low of 72262.7 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 22394.65 and intraday low of 22209.15

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1354.90,+0.00%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. (Rs. 3999.25,-4.34%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1655.35,-4.23%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1339.10,-3.33%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 3488.75,-3.29%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 229.10,-3.21%), among others.
