Post-Session: Sensex ends 160 points down; NSE Nifty at 23643.5

Sensex and Nifty closed lower on Friday amid weakness in metal, oil-linked, PSU bank and realty stocks, while continued rupee depreciation weighed on market sentiment throughout the session.

The 30-share benchmark index ended at 75237.99 down by -160.73 points or by -0.21 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23643.5 down by -46.1 points or by -0.19 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 75870.36 and intraday low of 75139.41 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 23839.3 and intraday low of 23610.3

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1118.40,+2.08%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1372.70,+2.04%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 305.85,+1.34%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1795.70,+1.27%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1904.60,+1.13%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 216.80,-1.97%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 241.05,-1.93%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1336.35,-1.87%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 11489.85,-1.83%), State Bank of India (Rs. 962.95,-1.69%), among others.

TECk index was at 14646.59 up by 171.24 points or by 1.18%. Bharti Hexacom Ltd. (Rs. 1563.40,+3.35%), Sun TV Network Ltd. (Rs. 537.25,+2.54%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1118.40,+2.08%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1372.70,+2.04%), Indus Towers Ltd. (Rs. 430.55,+1.89%),.
