Benchmark equity indices Sensex and Nifty recovered sharply from their intraday lows on Thursday as investors returned to selectively buy stocks at lower levels following the early-market weakness.
Market sentiment also received a boost from reports that the government has approved an ordinance aimed at easing tax regulations for certain foreign investors, a move that could support capital inflows and improve investor confidence.
The 30-share benchmark index ended at 74360.01 up by 13.84 points or by 0.02 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23416.55 up by 10.95 points or by 0.05 %.
