Sensex up 543 points; NSE Nifty at 23947.75

Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty were trading firm on Wednesday after falling sharply in the previous session, following softening crude oil prices and buying in blue-chips.

At 10:35 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 76744.33 up by 543.65 points or by 0.71 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23947.75 up by 123.65 points or by 0.52 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 76788.88 and intraday low of 76121.59 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 23970.3 and intraday low of 23789.25

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1455.65,+2.85%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1369.70,+2.37%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1052.95,+2.27%), InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. (Rs. 5075.00,+2.14%), Trent Ltd. (Rs. 3200.00,+1.86%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 360.00,-1.29%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 13280.00,-1.26%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 191.25,-1.24%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1883.20,-0.94%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 4275.85,-0.69%), among others.

IT index was at 26787.73 up by 379.02 points or by 1.44%. Ramco Systems Ltd. (Rs. 636.25,+13.51%), Onward Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 269.55,+4.96%), Oracle Financial Services Software Ltd. (Rs. 10227.40,+3.71%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1455.65,+2.85%), VL e-Governance & IT Solutions Ltd. (Rs. 13.39,+2.45%),.

Power index was at 8132.62 down by -95.53 points or by -1.16%. GE Vernova T&D India Ltd. (Rs. 5153.00,-4.46%), Hitachi Energy India Ltd. (Rs. 34621.85,-4.04%), Siemens Energy India Ltd. The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4035 , shares advanced were 1893 while 1921 shares declined and 221 were unchanged.
