Stock markets firm amid lower crude oil prices, buying in RIL

Indian benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty were trading higher on Thursday, supported by easing crude oil prices and buying interest in Reliance Industries, which helped lift overall market sentiment in early trade.

At 10:30 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 78740.89 up by 159.89 points or by 0.2 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24638.65 up by 14 points or by 0.06 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 78841.43 and intraday low of 78633.73 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24665.05 and intraday low of 24604.15

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 317.60,+2.19%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1300.30,+1.51%), Bharat Electronics Ltd. (Rs. 394.40,+1.34%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 4967.00,+1.12%), State Bank of India (Rs. 1060.85,+0.75%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 273.95,-2.85%), Trent Ltd. (Rs. 3070.50,-1.11%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 344.65,-0.96%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3431.75,-0.93%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2402.60,-0.71%), among others.

CGS index was at 78682.46 up by 642.26 points or by 0.82%. Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. (Rs. 4874.20,+5.58%), Apar Industries Ltd. (Rs. 16220.00,+3.57%), Cochin Shipyard Ltd. (Rs. 1455.00,+2.79%), Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd. (Rs. 2424.00,+2.27%), Bharat Dynamics Ltd. (Rs. 1267.30,+2.04%),.
