Mid-Session: Sensex up 248 points; RIL, BEL top gainers

Indian benchmark indices traded higher on Thursday, with the Sensex rising more than 200 points and the Nifty around 24,650 mark.

At 12:30 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 78829.28 up by 248.28 points or by 0.32 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24635.6 up by 10.95 points or by 0.04 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 78904.37 and intraday low of 78633.73 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24677.05 and intraday low of 24604.15

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1319.00,+2.97%), Bharat Electronics Ltd. (Rs. 397.75,+2.20%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 316.80,+1.93%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 4985.00,+1.49%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1457.65,+0.95%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 271.20,-3.83%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 343.50,-1.29%), Trent Ltd. (Rs. 3067.95,-1.19%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3425.55,-1.11%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2395.50,-1.00%), among others.

CGS index was at 78766.86 up by 726.66 points or by 0.93%. Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. (Rs. 4905.00,+6.25%), Cochin Shipyard Ltd. (Rs. 1484.00,+4.84%), Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd. (Rs. 2478.15,+4.55%), Bharat Dynamics Ltd. (Rs. 1296.85,+4.42%), AIA Engineering Ltd. (Rs. 4816.00,+4.03%),.

Realty index was at 6969.64 down by -72.49 points or by -1.03%. DLF Ltd. (Rs. 644.60,-2.92%), Aditya Birla Real Estate Ltd. (Rs. 1401.90,-1.31%), Lodha Developers Ltd. (Rs. 1232.45,-1.09%), Anant Raj Ltd. (Rs. 620.85,-1.06%), Oberoi Realty Ltd. (Rs. 1790.80,-0.95%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4473 , shares advanced were 2396 while 1867 shares declined and 210 were unchanged.
