Sensex down 122 points; NSE Nifty at 24184.65

Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty traded lower on Thursday as selling in blue-chip HDFC Bank and persistent geopolitical uncertainty weighed on markets' sentiment.

At 10:30 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 77350.45 down by -122.49 points or by -0.16 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24184.65 down by -23.1 points or by -0.1 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 77694.97 and intraday low of 77314.17 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24297.45 and intraday low of 24179.55

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 425.50,+2.23%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1593.40,+1.30%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1442.05,+0.79%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2649.50,+0.74%), Bharat Electronics Ltd. (Rs. 410.15,+0.70%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 329.00,-1.94%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1283.00,-1.31%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 262.70,-1.24%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2006.60,-1.15%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 719.70,-1.02%), among others.

CGS index was at 79553.84 up by 463.41 points or by 0.59%. Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (Rs. 428.50,+3.19%), Apar Industries Ltd. (Rs. 17504.00,+2.61%), GE Vernova T&D India Ltd. (Rs. 4451.00,+2.52%), Kirloskar Oil Engines Ltd. (Rs. 2090.00,+2.46%), CG Power and Industrial Solutions Ltd. (Rs. 887.00,+2.31%),.

FMCG index was at 17824.99 down by -112.92 points or by -0.63%. Chaman Lal Setia Exports Ltd. (Rs. 301.85,-3.70%), Ugar Sugar Works Ltd. (Rs. 52.80,-3.60%), Dhampur Bio Organics Ltd. (Rs. 124.02,-3.42%), Dhampur Sugar Mills Ltd. (Rs. 177.75,-3.19%), Emami Ltd. (Rs. 388.75,-3.14%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4119 , shares advanced were 1827 while 2054 shares declined and 238 were unchanged.
