Market opens higher; IT stocks lead

The Nifty 50 and Sensex opened higher, supported by gains in IT stocks, while investors remained cautious ahead of remarks from US Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh at the Jackson Hole Symposium.

At 9:30 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 77208.94 up by 275.35 points or by 0.36 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24122.6 up by 31.75 points or by 0.13 %.

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2312.10,+2.67%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1136.00,+2.65%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1627.15,+2.62%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1309.00,+2.09%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1720.85,+0.92%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3313.00,-0.75%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 1070.20,-0.63%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 1990.45,-0.59%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 11660.05,-0.49%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1438.60,-0.37%), among others.
