Mid-Session: Sensex rises over 300 points; realty, auto jump over 1.5%

Indian benchmark indices extended their gains on Thursday, with the Sensex climbing over 250 points while the Nifty traded firmly above the 23,300 mark.

At 12:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 74650.18 up by 313.73 points or by 0.42 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23346.75 up by 129.15 points or by 0.56 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 74677.56 and intraday low of 74163.95 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 23363.55 and intraday low of 23193.65

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 325.60,+2.78%), Bharat Electronics Ltd. (Rs. 395.00,+2.23%), InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. (Rs. 4849.00,+2.21%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 12370.05,+1.48%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3116.40,+1.38%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 4868.50,-0.95%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 718.20,-0.58%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1057.00,-0.34%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1247.50,-0.29%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1357.90,-0.08%), among others.

Realty index was at 6548.48 up by 119.09 points or by 1.85%. DLF Ltd. (Rs. 643.00,+3.21%), Anant Raj Ltd. (Rs. 596.20,+2.12%), Aditya Birla Real Estate Ltd. (Rs. 1259.85,+2.06%), Lodha Developers Ltd. (Rs. 1106.00,+1.86%), Prestige Estates Projects Ltd. (Rs. 1451.00,+1.62%),.

Oil&Gas index was at 25455.86 down by -28.45 points or by -0.11%. Oil India Ltd. (Rs. 478.10,-2.04%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 233.10,-1.48%), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 134.45,-0.15%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4452 , shares advanced were 2716 while 1541 shares declined and 195 were unchanged.
