Markets under pressure; Titan Company, BEL top losers

Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty were trading lower on Wednesday after a two-session rally, weighed down by a surge in crude oil prices and caution ahead of the Reserve Bank of India’s monetary policy decision.

At 10:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 72823.39 down by -244.42 points or by -0.33 % and then NSE Nifty was at 22657.85 down by -118.25 points or by -0.52 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 72969.57 and intraday low of 72520.73 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 22701.6 and intraday low of 22578.25

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 439.05,+1.81%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 969.20,+0.77%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 329.60,+0.47%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1815.05,+0.33%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1345.65,+0.30%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 4372.60,-3.69%), Bharat Electronics Ltd. (Rs. 381.15,-1.61%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2387.60,-1.34%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 2814.55,-1.31%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 11466.70,-1.17%), among others.

Bankex index was at 62179.13 up by 60.79 points or by 0.1%. Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 439.05,+1.81%), Union Bank of India (Rs. 170.60,+1.31%), Federal Bank Ltd. (Rs. 324.50,+1.28%), Canara Bank (Rs. 119.05,+1.19%), Punjab National Bank (Rs. 112.45,+0.40%),.
