Coal production from Captive and Commercial Mines recorded robust growth in May 2025, reaching 16.432 million tonnes (MT)—a substantial 24.57% increase compared to May 2024.
Coal dispatches also showed strong momentum, with 17.499 MT dispatched during the month—an increase of 13.76% over the same period last year. This consistent rise in both production and dispatch is playing a key role in supporting vital sectors such as power, steel, and cement.
In addition to operational achievements, the month of May also saw progress on regulatory fronts. Three major clearances were secured, including Stage-I and Stage-II Forest Clearances and Mining Lease execution for various coal blocks.
