Satin Creditcare Network Limited (SCNL), one of India’s leading microfinance institutions, has expanded its footprint to Mizoram with the launch of its first branch in Aizawl. With this move, SCNL now operates across 26 states and 4 union territories, becoming the first major microfinance institution to establish a presence in the state. The expansion aligns with SCNL’s ongoing mission to promote financial inclusion and economic empowerment in underserved regions.
This development further strengthens SCNL’s position in the Northeast, where it now operates in seven states, making it the largest microfinance institution in the region. As of June 30, 2025, the company manages a strong portfolio of over ?1,500 crore and operates 165 active branches across the Northeast.
With a nationwide network of more than 1,600 branches, SCNL focuses primarily on improving credit access in rural and semi-urban India. Currently, 76% of its operations are based in rural areas, reaching over 1,00,000 villages. The entry into Mizoram marks a natural progression in the company’s strategy to expand into new geographies while empowering local communities.
Commenting on the expansion, Dr. H P Singh, Chairman and Managing Director of Satin Creditcare, said:
“Our entry into Mizoram builds on our strong foundation in the Northeast, where we’ve consistently delivered impactful financial services to underserved regions. With deep regional insights and experience, we’re well-equipped to meet the unique needs of Mizoram. This expansion allows us to support local women entrepreneurs, promote self-reliance, and foster inclusive growth. We are committed to being a trusted partner in the state’s development journey.”
Through this strategic expansion, SCNL aims to continue driving meaningful change and economic opportunity in some of India’s most remote and underserved areas.
