Westside unveils YNG – A Platform for India’s Next Generation of Fashion Creatives

Westside, one of India’s leading fashion retailers and part of Trent Ltd., has launched YNG (Young New Gamechanger), an initiative designed to spotlight and nurture the country’s emerging fashion talent.

For its debut edition, Westside partnered with NIFT to invite students to reinterpret two of its most popular in-house labels, Bombay Paisley and ETA. The collaboration resulted in a bold, Gen Z-inspired collection under the new YNG label, which made its first appearance at Westside’s Media Day on September 11. The event offered an intimate celebration of creativity, bringing together members of the press, content creators, potential partners and Westside’s community of customers. Alongside the YNG capsule collections, Westside also showcased its seasonal fashion line, offering audiences a glimpse of the brand’s evolving creative direction.

With YNG, Westside has created a dynamic platform for young designers, stylists, models, influencers, photographers, videographers and hair-and-makeup artists to showcase their skills within a professional setting. “As a lifestyle brand, Westside has always been committed to creating meaningful spaces where young voices can thrive,” said Shailina, COO of Westside. “Through YNG, we’ve offered emerging talent the chance to design for real brands, build strong portfolios and gain valuable industry experience, while being rewarded for their work. The journey of YNG was also documented in a behind-the-scenes mini-series titled From Sketch to Store: The YNG Journey, capturing the energy and determination behind the process — from early sketches and fittings to the final reveal. The series opened with celebrated design duo Saaksha & Kinni, highlighting the passion and vision behind the inaugural YNG collections.
