The Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), under the Ministry of Ayush, has launched SIDDHI 2.0, the second edition of its flagship industry–research interface initiative, in Vijayawada. Organized by the Regional Ayurveda Research Institute (RARI) in collaboration with CII, the two-day national conclave aims to strengthen scientific innovation, product development, and industry partnerships in the Ayurveda pharmaceutical sector.
At the inaugural ceremony, CCRAS unveiled its medico-historical publication “Evolution of Ayurveda, Siddha & Unani Drug Regulations in India” and launched a Drug Inventory Management System portal. SIDDHI 2.0 builds on the momentum of PRAGATI-2024 and marks a strategic shift toward research-driven product development, indigenous technology, and improved translational pathways.
CCRAS Director General Prof. Rabinarayan Acharya emphasised Ayurveda’s increased relevance amid rising lifestyle diseases and highlighted several CCRAS initiatives supporting collaborative research and equitable IPR sharing. Andhra Pradesh Ayush Director Shri K. Dinesh Kumar proposed establishing a National Ayurveda Institute, noting the need for more colleges and pharma units in the state.
Deputy DG Dr. N. Srikanth shared that CCRAS has validated over 150 Ayurvedic formulations and encouraged industry players to use its extensive data and research-friendly policies. Industry leaders, including Kiran Bhupatiraju of Laila Nutra, stressed the modernisation of Ayurvedic products for global markets.
The conclave featured technical sessions with inputs from CCRAS scientists and companies like Himalaya Wellness, showcasing new technologies, formulations, and collaboration opportunities. Over 100 delegates from 25+ Ayurvedic pharma companies, researchers, clinicians, and academicians participated.
Positioned as a national translational accelerator, SIDDHI 2.0 aims to enhance industry adoption of CCRAS technologies, strengthen regulatory frameworks, and support the creation of globally competitive Ayurvedic pharmaceuticals—advancing a modern, evidence-based future for Ayurveda.
