RBI to conduct variable rate repo auctions on December 15 and 16

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI), after reviewing prevailing and evolving liquidity conditions, has decided to conduct Variable Rate Repo (VRR) auctions under the Liquidity Adjustment Facility (LAF) on December 15 and December 16, 2025.

The first auction will be held on Monday, December 15, for a notified amount of Rs 75,000 crore with an 11-day tenor. The second auction will take place on Tuesday, December 16, also for Rs 75,000 crore, with a 10-day tenor. Both auctions will be conducted between 9:30 AM and 10:00 AM, with the reversal date scheduled for December 26, 2025 (Friday).

The RBI stated that the operational guidelines for these auctions will remain the same as outlined in its press release dated January 20, 2022.
