Copper Futures Decline on Weak Demand

Copper prices slipped in futures trade on Wednesday as participants cut their positions amid muted demand in the domestic market. Prices fell by Rs 42.15 to Rs 1,295.95 per kilogram.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), copper futures for the January contract declined by Rs 42.15, or 3.15 per cent, to Rs 1,295.95 per kg, with a business turnover of 13,505 lots.

Analysts said the fall in copper prices was largely due to participants lowering their bets amid weak demand conditions.
