Aluminium Futures Fall on Weak Demand

Aluminium prices declined in futures trade on Wednesday as participants reduced their positions amid a weak trend in the spot market. Prices fell by Rs 2.10 to Rs 296.40 per kilogram on low demand from consuming industries.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), aluminium contracts for January delivery slipped by Rs 2.10, or 0.7 per cent, to Rs 296.40 per kg, with a business turnover of 4,459 lots.

Analysts said easing demand in the physical market led participants to cut back positions, which weighed on aluminium prices.
