RBI to Conduct 2-Day Variable Rate Repo Auction Under LAF on January 7

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced that it will conduct a two-day Variable Rate Repo (VRR) auction under the Liquidity Adjustment Facility (LAF) on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, following a review of prevailing and evolving liquidity conditions.

As per the notification, the RBI will auction a notified amount of ?1,00,000 crore for a tenor of two days. The auction window will be open from 9:30 am to 10:00 am, with the date of reversal scheduled for January 9, 2026 (Friday).

The central bank said that the operational guidelines for the auction will remain the same as those outlined in its earlier press release dated January 20, 2022.
