IL&FS Transportation gets Rs 96.96 lakh Service Tax Demand Notice from CGST Authority

IL&FS Transportation Network has informed the exchanges that it has received a Demand Notice for payment of an outstanding Service Tax liability, pursuant to Regulation 30 of the SEBI LODR Regulations.

The notice, dated December 31, 2025, was issued by the Assistant Commissioner of CGST & Central Excise and was received by the company on January 13, 2026. The demand aggregates to ?96,96,046, comprising tax and penalty, excluding interest, for the financial year 2016–17, under Section 73(1) of the Finance Act, 1994, citing alleged non-payment of service tax.

The company stated that it is reviewing the Demand Notice and will take appropriate steps in the matter. IL&FS Transportation further clarified that the demand does not have any material impact on its financial position, operations, or other business activities at present.

The company is currently assessing its next course of action in line with applicable laws and regulations.
