Gems, jewellery exports fall 4.98 pc in December to USD 1,883.85 mn: GJEPC

India’s gems and jewellery exports declined 4.98 per cent year-on-year to USD 1,883.85 million (Rs 16,978.44 crore) in December 2025, impacted by geopolitical uncertainties that dampened demand in key overseas markets, the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) said on Friday.

In comparison, exports of gems and jewellery had stood at USD 1,982.62 million (Rs 16,843.87 crore) in December 2024, according to GJEPC data.

For the April–December 2025 period, exports remained largely stable at USD 20,751.28 million, registering a marginal 0.41 per cent decline from USD 20,837.45 million recorded during the corresponding period of the previous year.
