RBI to conduct 8-Day VRR Auction of Rs 50,000 crore on January 21

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Tuesday announced that it will conduct an 8-day Variable Rate Repo (VRR) auction under the Liquidity Adjustment Facility (LAF) on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, after reviewing prevailing and evolving liquidity conditions.

The auction will be held for a notified amount of ?50,000 crore, with the bidding window open from 9:30 am to 10:00 am. The date of reversal for the auction has been fixed as January 29, 2026 (Thursday).

The RBI said the operational guidelines for the auction will remain the same as those outlined in its Press Release dated January 20, 2022.
